10 Things to Do in LA This July

July, the month of celebrating our country with lots of sparkly fireworks is here! Summer is now in full effect, so it’s time to pull out the sunglasses, shorts, and bathing suits! The fourth of July is only the beginning of the fun you can find in LA this month, there’s a surfing, food, and free concerts all waiting for you!

Here are some of the best things to do in LA this July:

July 2nd – August 20th

Moonlight Movies on the Beach

Catch a flick during Moonlight Movies on the Beach this summer. It’s Tuesdays starting at sunset (around 8pm). There are snacks and food for sale, but the movie portion is free!

July 4th

Americafest

AmericanFest at the Rose Bowl is the ultimate 4th of July celebration with great food, a motorcycle stunt show and of course, FIREWORKS!

July 5th – 28th

Experience Apollo 11

Travel to space, virtually, with an immersive flight to the moon. You experience the blast off from Kennedy Space Center, fly to the moon and walk on its surface all in the Lunar Dome at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena!

July 12th – August 11th

Orange County Fair

Ride some carnival rides, pet some cute animals, and eat all the fried food you can handle at the OC Fair! There’s also some big music acts that will perform, a rodeo and wine tasting.

July 13th – August 17th

Downtown Stage Saturday Concert Series

If you are looking for a night of food trucks, a bar and live music then the Downtown State Saturday Concert Series is right up your alley! It’s going on at Pershing Square in DTLA and is free to attend.

July 13th

Rock The Queen

Experience some tribute bands of British rock & roll with three different stages on the Queen Mary. Rock The Queen will even have games, bars and a pub. All aboard!

July 13th – 14th

Lotus Festival

The Lotus Festival is where you’ll be able to find dancers from Bangladesh, a Japanese tea ceremony, Chinese Tai Chi classes, dragon boat races and food vendors! All of that happening at the beautiful Echo Park Lake.

 

July 17th – 15th

LA Shorts International Film Festival

Watch a variety of short films at the LA Shorts International Film Festival at Laemmle’s in North Hollywood! It is one of the largest international short film festivals in the world and the longest running short film festival in LA.

July 26th – 27th

OzCon

Follow the yellow brick road down the fictional Land of Oz at OzCon! There will be panel discussions, costumes, treasure hunts, and more.

July 27th – August 4th

U.S. Open

U.S. Open of Surfing hits Huntington Beach this month! Watch top surfers catch some gnarly waves, skateboarders, and BMX bikers all compete. It even includes a lifestyle festival and movie nights.
