12 Awesome Things To Do In LA This June

Are you looking for things to do in LA this June? Welcome to the summer heat of June! Where beach days are in full effect and warm nights with colorful sunsets begin. Angelenos, get your bathing suits and sun hats ready, but don’t forget to check on your air conditioners too! You can sun-tan poolside, take a dip in the ocean, or even explore summer nights in the city.

June 2nd

Pedal On The Pier

Start the summer off with some exercise and the opportunity to give back! The 9th Annual Pedal on the Pier fundraising event will have teams who will pedal for 5 hours to raise over $1 Million. The money will go towards the Harold Robinson Foundation. which helps less fortunate kids in LA to have a wonderful camp experience. There will also be food and drinks, DJs, celebrity guests, and more!

June 7th – 8th

Ghostbusters Fan Fest

Who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters! Yep! Ghostbusters Fan Fest is going down at the Sony Pictures Studio Lot this summer. Don’t expect any ghosts, but there will be appearances from director Ivan Reitman, composer Ray Parker Jr. and the original cast of Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and William Atherton.

June 8th

DTLA Donut Fest

If you’re constantly dreaming of California Donuts and VooDoo Donuts at all times, then the DTLA Donut Fest is for you! Those donuts vendors along with Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken along with several others will be at Union Station serving up their delicious sweet treats.

World Ocean’s Day Beach Clean Up

Celebrate World Ocean’s Day with a beach clean up hosted by Unilever’s Love Beauty and Planet together with the Surfrider Foundation! They are hosting 27 beach cleanups nationwide. Including one at Gladstones Beach from 2pm – 5pm and one at Huntington Beach from 8am – 12pm. The event is completely free and there is no need to RSVP. You can enjoy a day by the beach and keep our coastlines clean!

June 9th

L.A. Pride

Get ready for a colorful and fun party in the streets of WeHo! L.A. Pride pulls out all the stops for a weekend filled with music, dancing, and love. Plus the parade on Sunday is one of the biggest Pride Parades in the country!

June 15th

Taqueando Festival

Leave it to author, reporter, and taco connoisseur Bill Esparza to throw a Taco Festival like no other. Happening for the first time in DTLA, this Taco Festival will offer unlimited taco samples from Mariscos Jalisco, Aqui es Texcoco, and Guerilla Tacos, just to name a few. Dozens of taqueros not only from SoCal, but Mexico, Arizona and more will be there for you to taste.

June 15th – 23rd

L.A. Beer Week

Ready to practice those chugging skills you learned in college? It’s time for L.A. Beer Week and you don’t have to chug, but you will have the opportunity to drink a whole lot of beer! The opening event on June 15th will have 90 exclusively independent craft breweries with over 200 different beers. That’s a LOT of beer!

June 22nd

The Mass Meditation Initiative

The Mass Meditation Initiative might be just what you need after a week of drinking. Los Angeles State Historic Park will be the home to this vegan, music, and yoga filled festival. It’s free to attend and there will be a “global mass meditation” at the event.

June 29th

L.A. Food Fest

You won’t starve at the L.A. Food Fest at Santa Anita Park! Food and drinks from over 100 restaurants and celebrity chefs will be up for grabs, plus an ice cream social and ice coffee lounge! For those a little more inclined to drinks of the alcoholic variety, there will also be craft cocktails, tequila tasting and craft beer gardens.

California Watermelon Festival

Nothing beats a slice of watermelon on a hot summer day, except maybe the California Watermelon Festival! All-you-can-eat watermelon, watermelon pizzas, watermelon carvings, “watermelon skiing” and more! Every watermelon thing you could ever imagine will be there.

CatCon – Pasadena

Cat ladies unite! Known as the biggest cat convention out there, CatCon is filled with furry friends to adopt, cat-centric merch, and more all at the Pasadena Convention Center. It’s the purr-fect event!

June 30th

5K Color Run

You can’t go wrong with the 5K Color Run! This fun run has everyone wearing white so that as you run the course everyone can throw colorful cornstarch on you! Spoiler alert, everyone is rainbow colored at the end!
