6 Daily Fitness Essentials for Every LA Girl

Daily Fitness Essentials

We all want to be healthy and stay healthy! But it does take some planning and coordination to include fitness in your daily routine. So here’s are some of my fitness essentials to help you stay on track with your fitness regimen.

1. A fitness plan

Whether you’re going to the gym every day, a yoga class every other day, or alternating running and cycling, you MUST have a plan! Not having one often leads to procrastination and ending up doing nothing, so my advice is to plan your schedule on Sunday and make sure you know what you’re doing as far as fitness for the week.

2. The right tools

  • Yoga Mat – pretty standard even if you’re not doing yoga, but when you’re doing any type of floor exercises
  • Weights, kettle Bell, jump rope, resistance band
  • Towel – for after-workout sweatiness
  • Toiletries – deodorant, dry shampoo, face wipes, whatever you need after a workout

3. An awesome outfit or four

When you look good, you feel good! When you’re working out, you want to be wearing clothes that you like and look good in. If you’re working out at a gym or doing fitness classes, you’re going to see yourself in the mirror and you want to be able to like what you’re looking at.

4. The right pair of shoes

Everyone can use a good pair of trainers, but make sure you have the right shoes for every type of activity. If you’re a hiker, invest in a good pair of boots. If you play tennis or soccer, buy athletic shoes specifically for the sport. It’s okay to start out with regular shoes, but if it looks like you’re going to stick it out for over a month – go ahead and go shoe shopping!

5. An effective hydration system

We all know that it’s important to drink water, so make sure you always have it with you! Keep a refillable water bottle in the car and/or at your work. For hikers, it’s important to invest in a hydration system and I always like to carry a minimum of 3 liters.

Don’t forget about electrolytes! While water is great, you’re losing electrolytes when you sweat. I like to drink Propel water when I work out. It’s the only water with enough electrolytes to put back what you lose in sweat.

6. A good amount of #fitspo

Like anything you do, it’s best to have someone to look up to! It can be a mentor, a coach, trainer, or even Instagram accounts that will help motivate your fitness journey. Here are some of my faves:
