Meet Alina Mischi, Austrian Actress With an LA Dream

Alina Mischi

When Alina Mischi first heard about LA, she couldn’t stop thinking about the time when she would be able to come here and be an actress. This is a common thing that you hear about in LA, people moving out here to be in the entertainment industry – it’s almost a cliché. But it turns out, this is quite rare in Austria and people didn’t take Alina’s plan seriously.

Alina was born in Austria and wanted to be an actress when she was just ten years old. She knew that she wanted to come to America and was persistent in finding a way to get here. She joined the Rotary Club in hopes to be able to come to California, but as luck would have it, she ended up going to Nova Scotia in Canada. This setback did not deter her pursuit.

After her brief stay in Canada, she moved to Berlin to pursue an acting career and attended the Cannes Film Festival to make some connections. After a brief stint in the European entertainment world, she decided to work full-time in Russia to save money and then come to Los Angeles.

When I first met Alina, I could she that she was passionate about acting and being in LA. I could feel her positive energy and willingness to do whatever it took to achieve her dream. “It feels like I’m in a movie,” she says. People had told her that “LA eats people’s souls”, but she has found that in Los Angeles, people love to dream.

She’s met all sorts of people in LA and they are all in pursuit of their passion, working towards something bigger. Alina is currently in LA studying acting under the direction of Ivanna Chubbuck. Ivana Chubbuck is the founder and director of the Ivana Chubbuck Studio, one of the top acting schools in the city, whose former students include Charlize Theron, Brad Pitt, James Franco, Jake Gyllenhaal and more.
