The LA Girl Goes to See DC Universe: The Exhibit

On Wednesday May 18th, 2016, Warner Bros. Studios and DC Entertainment invited us to check out the newest attraction of the Warner Bros. Tour known as DC Universe: The Exhibit, containing both past and future memorabilia from three highly anticipated movies within the DC Universe: Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Justice League and Suicide Squad. To say I was geeking out super hard would be an understatement.

Upon arrival, guests were offered ‘Suicide Lemonade’ and greeted to some of the most valuable possessions known to collectors. Inside glass cases nearly ten feet from the entrance contained first editions of each character from the Justice League, ranging from hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars. Basically, worth more than my life.

As guests wandered further into the exhibit, we witnessed costumes, props and famous quotations from Batman V. Superman. Impressive costumes from the actual movie loomed high above us, looking more gothic and menacing than I could ever imagine. Costumes included Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor and more.

But the highlight of the exhibit was the entire costume and prop setup from the new Suicide Squad Movie. Harley Quinn, of course, being the centerpiece of the collection was oggled and photographed more than other members of her team and with good reason as her costume was bedazzled, designed and created with the finest detail.

The coolest part? When Gene Simmons, along with his daughter Sophie, arrived at the exhibit and announced his pure geekness in regards to all things comics and fantasy. “The geeks have finally won” he said in earnest about the amazing exhibit. “It’s our world and you all just live in it!” Fans cheered in solidarity and amusement. Both Gene and special guest, Jordan Clarkson of the LA Lakers, got their geek on when they reached inside a plexiglass set to hold Superman’s legendary kryptonite.
