Get ready to celebrate love, unity and togetherness within and around the LGBTQ+ community because LA Pride is coming up! Los Angeles is known to be a melting pot of cultures and people and this weekend just proves it further. Everyone celebrates that it’s not who you love that’s important it’s that we all love each other. Whether you’re partying in the street, going to a show, or attending the LA Pride Parade, it’s a fun filled month with lots of rainbows and lots of joy! Here are the best Pride events around Los Angeles.
LGBT Night at Dodger Stadium
LA Pride and the Los Angeles Dodgers bring you a “home run” Pride celebration at Dodger Stadium. The special event package comes with a ticket to the game and an exclusive rainbow-themed duffle bag. The 7th Annual LGBT Night kicks off at 5:30pm with a pre-game party at the Right Field Plaza bar until the first pitch at 7:10pm. Supporter of the LGBT community and best known for her role in Hairspray, Nikki Blonsky will be performing the national anthem. Stay until the bottom of the 9th inning to watch some beautiful fireworks on the field!
Pride is Universal – Universal Studios Hollywood
Universal Studios Hollywood and LA Pride celebrate the LGBT+ communities and their allies with an unforgettable pride-filled experience in the park. A ticket to Pride is Universal, gets you into the park at 4pm but also gives you access to private after-hours Pride celebration from 9pm until 2am! So you can visit AMC’s “The Walking Dead Attraction”, or The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, or just dance the night away at their new dance club at Sound Stage 29!
LA Pride Opening Ceremony
Although you need a ticket for for the LA Pride Festival, the LA Pride Opening Ceremony is completely free! Make your way to West Hollywood Park, to see the WeHo Vogue Ball & Drag Show, and a concert from Paula Abdul!
LA Pride Festival
June 8th – 9th
The party really gets started on Saturday of the two day LA Pride Festival at West Hollywood Park. A ticket will get you two days of non-stop entertainment, lots of activities, plus delicious food and drinks! The icing on the cake though is that Meghan Trainor will be performing on Saturday, followed by Years and Years on Sunday! Also set to perform, Ashanti, Amara La Negra, Dej Loaf, Greyson Chance, and many more!
LA Pride Parade
This year’s annual LA Pride Parade is telling the #JUSTUNITE story. If you can only make it to one event for LA Pride, this is THE one to pick! Don’t forget to arrive early to ensure a good viewing spot along Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood. You’ll be creating a #JUSTUNITE moment as thousands of Angelenos from the LGBTQ+ community, as well as straight allies, join in the spirit of unity and togetherness!
OUT Under the Stars: “Hairspray”
Hairspray starring Nikki Blonsky, Zac Efron, John Travolta and more, will be on the big screen in all it’s 1960s glory at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. The Los Angeles LGBT Center presents OUT Under The Stars, showing a movie that represents change back in the “olden days.” There will also be food and drink vendors from around LA, a DJ and celebrity guest appearances!
OUT at Angel City Brewery
Going down on the final day of L.A. Beer Week, Angel City Brewery and the Los Angeles LGBT Center are helping everyone celebrate Pride with live entertainment, comedians, and more. General admission is free to this event and there’s even a specially brewed LGBT Pride Beer to celebrate the LGBT Community!
